Is Foam Party Foam Safe?

By the Foam Palooza crew — 2,000+ foam events run across five markets. Updated July 2026.

Asked by every parent booking a party and every operator choosing a supplier — and it deserves a real answer, not marketing. We run foam events for children every single weekend, so this is the standard we hold our own product to. Here's what party foam actually is, with our lab data.

Our own events, every weekend — the standard we hold the powder to.

What foam party foam is made of

Quality party foam is a heavily diluted solution of mild surfactants — the same ingredient family as shampoo and body wash. Our powder is two components: sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate (a cosmetic-grade foaming surfactant, CAS 68439-57-6) and polyethylene glycol (one of the most common cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients, CAS 25322-68-3). It's mixed with water at roughly 500 to 1 — so the foam kids play in is overwhelmingly water and air.

What our lab testing shows

The honest caveats

"Safe" doesn't mean "ignore common sense," and we'd rather you hear this from us:

Grass, clothes, and cleanup

The diluted foam rinses clean with water and doesn't stain clothing. As for lawns: we run foam on client backyards every weekend across five markets, and rebooking is our entire business model — a hose-down after the event is all we ever do.

Foam with the paperwork to prove it

Lab-tested powder with the SDS and mixing guide in every box — the same powder our own crews run at children's events every weekend.
