The most common question we get from new operators — and from parents renting a cannon for the weekend. Here's how our crews plan solution across 2,000+ events and counting.
A standard foam cannon empties a 50-gallon solution tank in about 30–60 minutes, depending on your flow setting and how continuously you run it. An average backyard party — roughly an hour of foam with natural breaks — usually takes 1–2 tank loads. Big community events run 2–4 hours and go through several. Plan your water access accordingly: a hose on site matters more than people think.
Using our powder — the standard mix is one-third of a 1 kg pack per 50-gallon tank. Times assume a standard cannon at typical flow:

These are starting ratios — every machine runs differently. More powder = thicker foam; a little less = lighter foam that throws farther. Tune from here, and refill mid-event with the same ratio.
Work backward from your bookings: one 1 kg pack makes three 50-gallon tank loads — for most operators, 2–3 average parties. A weekend operator running 6 events a week burns roughly 2–4 packs weekly — a 10-pack case every three weeks, or roughly 4–5 cases across a summer season. Whatever your math says, add a one-month buffer; the mid-season stockout is the most expensive mistake in this business, and we know because we made it twice before switching to powder we could stack on a shelf.
